In one month, I will no longer be an IBMer. Â Back in 2014, I was offered a program called âTransition to Retirementâ in which I would work part time until the end of 2015 in exchange for my sanity. Â It has worked out well, since for the last 6 months Iâve been helping my ailing parents. Â Part time status meant I was able to work from their home sometimes, while still keeping up (mostly) with my work.

I’ll be leaving with 16 years as an IBM employee. Â I’ll be writing more about this as the time nears – as IBM removes my access and takes away my laptop and credit card – all the ‘normal’ stuff. Â I won’t be retiring, though – I still have bills to pay and not nearly enough savings to use for that.

So, if you’re looking for short term or long term tech help – with Notes, Domino, Connections, Security, whatever – I’m available. Â I’m assuming that if you see this, you can figure out a way to get in touch with me. Â LinkedIn has a pretty good summary of my skills if you need it.

In the meantime – go buy a ticket for Connect 2016. Â I’ll be there to visit friends. Â I’ll get to relax at the edges of the show for the first time in 15 years. Â Mr. Mat Newman himself has lined up some really awesome Best Practice sessions and IBM will do a great job with the MTD lab and tech sessions too. Â I won’t be attending sessions unless you hire me before then or give me a free pass, but I’ll be at the Lazy River pool while you’re studying or presenting. Â Sounds like fun to me….
